Patrick Alan Byers

Patrick Alan Byers, known to his family and friends as Tyke, age 80, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, in Lawrence, Utah, after a short, courageous battle with melanoma cancer.

He was born in Henderson, Nevada on December 26, 1945, to James LeRoy Byers and Avis Maudine Snowden.

Patrick was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy and after his service he was a hardworking and talented tradesman working jobs in auto mechanics and construction. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting throughout his life with family and friends. He was a talented hunter and participated in rifle, bow, and muzzleloader hunts. In recent years, he enjoyed playing in a darts league with his friends. He was a fun, good-natured guy with a great personality and was loved by all. In his last days, the local American Legion provided him an Honor Salute for his military service for which he was very proud. The family would like to thank the team from Community Nursing Services Home Health & Hospice who provided loving care for Patrick in his last days, specifically, Kim, Melody, Michael, and Tabatha.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Byers, Laura Carnell (Jeff); grandchildren, Justin Druce, Braden Colledge, and Kourtney Morin (Maxwell); great grandchildren, Presli Allen and Kingston Druce; sister Marilyn Thiessens (Robert); brothers, Clay Byers, and Robert Byers (Betty); friends and selfless caregivers Rod Nelson and Tonya Barnhart and many other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Randi Byers; father, LeRoy Byers; mother, Maudine Tanner; twin sister, Patricia “Teny” Lavedar; and brother, Keith Byers.

A private graveside service will be held for immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or similar charity in support of veterans.
