Kenneth (Kenny) Scott Plehn, 43, of Wellington Utah, passed away on October 6, 2026, from complications of diabetes.
Kenny was born on October 18, 1982, in Merriam, Kansas, the sixth of seven children in the large and lively Plehn household. Growing up, he had a talent for wandering off—his siblings still recall many days spent searching the neighborhood for him, only to find him exploring an open garage or treating himself to a Diet Big Gulp at the 7-Eleven. Ever the explorer, Kenny approached life with curiosity and a sense of adventure.
He was raised in Sandy, Utah, and attended Jordan High School, where he enjoyed singing in the choir and made many lasting friendships. From a young age it was clear Kenny was a dreamer. His greatest childhood passion—one that stayed with him throughout his life—was superheroes. Batman was his icon, and he was rarely seen without the Batman logo somewhere on him. Combining his love of art, comics, and movies, he earned a degree in visual design in 2018.
These passions came second only to his greatest joy: his children—Dante, Kairi, Roxas, and Hunter. In his spare time, Kenny loved building Gundam models, cooking, and singing karaoke whenever the opportunity arose.
Even as he faced significant personal and physical challenges in his later years, Kenny remained optimistic. As Batman once said:
“Our scars can destroy us, even after the physical wounds have healed. But if we survive them, they can transform us. They can give us the power to endure, and the strength to fight.”
Kenny is survived by his children, Dante Jude Plehn, Kairi Mackenzie Courtney, Roxas Alexander Plehn, and Axel (Hunter) Phoenix Plehn; his parents, Mark and Kaye Plehn; sisters, Meredith Kopp and Melanie Swanson(Brian); brothers, David (Jody) Jon (Amber), Robb (Kara), Rick(Alicia).
Funeral service, Friday, October 16, 2026, 11:00 a.m., the Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel (935 East Main Street) in Wellington, where the family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Interment, Wellington City Cemetery. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Castle Valley Funerals & Cremations where family and friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.castlevalleyfunerals.com.
Kenny will be deeply missed by his parents, children, siblings, and all who knew him. His curiosity, creativity, and quiet resilience leave a lasting imprint on those who loved him. Until we meet again.
