Katy Hawkins

Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to Katy LaJean Hawkins, who passed peacefully on Christmas Day, 2025, at the age of 64. Katy lived a life rooted in love, growth, and family, always finding room for one more layer of joy.

Katy’s family was her greatest pride and purpose. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Timothy Hawkins; her sons, Lucus and Jacob; her daughter-by-love, Ashley; and her cherished grandchildren: James Carter Timothy (14), Sophia Ann LaJene (12), and Isaac Clark Bernard (9). She is also survived by her mother, Ineatha Dillard; her brother, Tracy Owen; and her sister, Virginia Stewart.

Katy’s heart was big enough to embrace many grandchildren by love, whom she cherished just as fiercely as her own. These included Embree (16), Jayden (14), Josslyn (12), Adaline (9), Odin (11), Matty (8), Ruen (5), and Dahlia (3). To Katy, love was never divided, it only grew.

Katy and Tim built a love that grew stronger with time—one filled with laughter, quiet mornings, shared games, favorite shows, and steady companionship. She was his calm, the grounding heart of their family, and the foundation of a love that will continue for generations.

Motherhood shaped Katy deeply, giving her strength, healing, and purpose. Quickly and naturally becoming, Nana bringing her pure joy. She delighted in card games, movie nights, crafts, snuggles, and simply being present; always gentle, always warm, always listening without judgment.

Katy had a rare gift for comfort. She welcomed people as they were, offered compassion freely, and made everyone feel safe and seen. Her love was quiet but powerful.

She will be missed beyond words, but her love lives on in the stories we share, the games we play, and the way we love one another.

Services will be held in private. In Katy’s memory, hug your people tight and cherish your time together, that is after all, what mattered most to her.
