Earl Thompson

Earl Preston Thompson Ferron: Earl Preston Thompson, age 67, died July 3, 2014 in Payson, Utah. He was born May 15, 1947 to Preston and Loye Thompson. Earl grew up in Ferron with a fishing pole in one hand and a gun in the other. This remained true throughout his life. He was a fun, loving father, a teasing big brother and an honorable son. His degree in forestry came as no surprise. After all, he was a mountain man and could fix anything with his bare hands. He was a healer, a contractor, a marksman, a story teller and a dreamer. He is survived by his mother, Loye Thompson; children, April Hunsaker, Jacob Thompson and Shane Thompson; sisters, Meredith Hess and Justine Goodfellow; brother, Lesly Thompson; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Earl was preceded in death by Preston Thompson, Tonja Thompson, Davey Luke, his grandparents, and Uncle Owen. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Ferron City Cemetery. A viewing will be held Monday, prior to the graveside service at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale, Utah from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary.
