Christine Jensen

September 2, 1955 — February 28, 2026

Our loving mother and grandmother, Christine Eggett Jensen, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 28, 2026.

Christine was born the youngest of six children to Lloyd and Lucille Burningham Eggett on September 2, 1955. She married Byron Jensen on November 14, 1985, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Raised in Bountiful, Utah, she graduated from Bountiful High School. She attended Snow College and later studied Home Economics at Utah State University, where she discovered a love for teaching and serving others.

She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served in many callings, including a mission to Northern Italy from 1976 to 1978.

She worked as a teacher and for the Deseret News. For 26 years, she served as an Extension Associate Professor with Utah State University in Emery County, Utah, a role she deeply enjoyed.

Christine was musical and loved to sing. Having trained professionally, she could fill a chapel with her voice. She enjoyed genealogy and was a passionate reader. She was known for her sewing, her quilts, her crafts, and her dedication to teaching those skills to others.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Byron Jensen; her two children, Seth Jensen and Joel (Lora) Jensen; her siblings, Lanay (George) Brinkerhoff, Doug (Linda) Eggett, and Monty (Connie) Eggett; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lucille Eggett; her brother, Ronald Eggett, and sister-in-law, Marva Loy Eggett; and her sister, Nina Lou Larsen, and brother-in-law, Emory Larsen.

A graveside service will be held in Bountiful, Utah. Details will be announced in the coming days. Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Castle Valley Funerals & Cremations where family and friends are always welcome and may share memories online at www.castlevalleyfunerals.com.
